“On Friday 11th July at 2pm, Capital of Dance, Blackpool will be hosting an unofficial world record breaking attempt for the Largest Disco Dance. It will be held on the Comedy Carpet art installation opposite the world famous Blackpool Tower, and it will be led by the undisputed King of Disco; Lionel Vinyl!
We will be posting a video on our YouTube channel (insert link) for everyone to learn the dance in advance and we will also be teaching the short and simple routine to everyone present on the day from 1.30pm prior to the recorded attempt at 2pm.
Those attending will be asked to register with our Capital of Dance Festival volunteers who will be present around the performance area and we are encouraging everyone to dress up in your best disco outfits! So, grab your Fame t-shirts, your Jane Fonda leg warmers, your Travolta white suit with flares and platform shoes, as we take you back to the disco decade from the 70’s to the 80’s! This will be the dance party to beat all dance parties, join us to celebrate the culmination of Dance Marathon week for Capital of Dance on the promenade in the UK’s most popular seaside resort!
