In association with the British Dance Sport Association (BDSA), Capital of Dance is delighted to welcome Salsa Tropical Dance Company to Blackpool. The company, based in London, is led by renowned dancers Maria Palmiera and Tsvetan Ivanov.
Maria Palmieri is a professional salsa instructor, performer, and choreographer. She trained as a professional dancer at the prestigious Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre School in New York, London’s Contemporary Dance School and the Laban Centre, where she earned a Master's in Choreography. Co-director Tsvetan is a former elite athlete who competed internationally in Modern Pentathlon and is now dedicated to teaching and performing Latin dance.

Maria has taught in various locations internationally, including Brazil, New York, London, Greece, Switzerland, and Australia. Her expertise spans a wide array of Latin dance styles, including Cuban Salsa, LA-style, New York-style (On2), Puerto Rican/Mambo, La Rueda de Casino, Bachata, Cha-Cha, Merengue, Son Cubano, Afro-dance, Samba, and Forró.

Salsa Tropical is a vibrant and energetic style of salsa that blends traditional Latin rhythms with tropical flair, creating an exciting fusion of dance. It's known for its upbeat tempo and dynamic movements, making it a favourite among dancers looking for fun and expression through rhythm.
